What safety measures are you taking during the pandemic?

The Lunch Lady takes great care to provide a safe and healthy experience for our customers.  Our kitchen staff is screened daily for signs of illness and we are limiting the number of staff in the kitchen. As always, we practice safe food handling and handwashing rules. Masks are worn during food preparation and on delivery and all kitchen surfaces are routinely sanitized.

Where do you deliver?

Currently we are delivering meals to Amherstburg, Lasalle, Windsor and Essex including the County.

How will my food be packaged?

In our kitchen, we proudly use Solpak packaging. It is paper based biodegradable trays that are sealed with a breathable microfilm. This preserves freshness and helps ensure food safety. The trays stay strong in the fridge, freezer, oven and microwave.

Do you have a store front?

No, we do not have a store front. Our menu is online for easy selection and upon ordering, you can choose delivery or you can pick up your food at our Amherstburg kitchen. We will set up a time and bring your order out to your car.

Do my meals come frozen?

All our meals are made fresh in our Lunch Lady kitchen and chilled. For delivery, we pack the meals in our insulated cooler bags with ice packs to ensure your food arrives safely. If you are not home to receive your food, we ask that you put a cooler and ice pack on your porch. We bring all meals back to the kitchen for later pick up, if there is no safe place to leave your food.

Can I freeze my meals?

Yes, most of our menu items are suitable for freezing. We recommend taking the food out to defrost in the fridge overnight before heating.

How do I heat the food?

Most of our menu items are ready when heated in the microwave for a few minutes. The heating directions are found on the packaging. You may choose to use the oven to heat your meals. The packaging is oven safe to 350F.

Do you use a lot of salt when cooking?

The nutrition is provided below each item on the menu. We use as little salt as possible while cooking and leave it up to the customer to season their food to their liking.
